Construction has begun on the vacant site with a new Doctor’s Surgery. The new surgery will be principally a single storey structure, with a small first floor, beneath a curved roof structure, to minimise the visual scale. The Building will be contemporary with articulation drawn from the immediate townscape.
The intention is to create an attractive environment for visitors to the medical practice, whilst at the same time enhancing the townscape. It achieves an acceptable balance between site coverage by the new building and open useable spaces around it, with space between adjoining properties. The layout includes a nature conservation area to the east of the car park and is enhanced by proposed new landscaping.
