Set within 650 acres of land, a Masterplan was prepared for a 2,450 home urban extension of Aylesbury for Barratt Strategic & Ashfield Land.
Planned as four village settlements each with their own distinctive architectural language and character, the designs aimed to accentuate the natural features of the area. The masterplan includes two primary schools (with further room for a secondary school), local retail, sports facilities, food retail and 10 hectares of employment land, all set within a clearly defined hierarchy of landscaped roads and open spaces.
The project has received widespread recognition, winning numerous awards, including Outstanding Built for Life, RTPI: Award for Planning Excellence, and What House: Best Partnership Scheme in conjunction with the RSPB
